Springtime/Summertime

A couple of weeks ago, I finally got the hummingbird feeders out. I caught this bird feed from one of them.

This year we decided to try growing flowers out front. We pulled out the 2 bushes that were blocking the front windows. I am happy to say that the wildflower seeds that we planted were a success. Hopefully, the pumpkin plants work out as well as the flowers did.

Mother's Day

This year for Mother's Day Casey and I had my siblings and mom come over for lunch. It was a nice day to enjoy each others company on the deck. We did miss Nate and Krystal and their families. Right before we started the main dish, we had a plumbing issue. I am so glad I have a husband that is handy with house repairs. Once that was fixed, we got busy making dutch oven sloppy joes. We had perfect timing because everyone showed up just as it was getting done cooking. After eating, Braxton and Eric's girls were racing from the deck to the back of the yard and back. It was fun watching them.

CF walk

In May, we had the opportunity to do the CF walk for Jordan. The goal for our team was to raise $1,000. We missed the mark but were happy that we made $900. There were about 15 of us that were walking for Jordan. This was the first year we have participated. It was amazing to see how many people were there. One "team" even raised $23,000. We started walking from the MTC park in Ogden and went along the Ogden River Parkway. It was a pretty walk in the trees. We even got to see part of the Dinosaur park. My sister in law and I both wish we lived closer so we could walk it more often.
On our walk, Casey saw the weirdest shoes. There was a girl that had shoes that had individual spaces for each of her toes. She claims that they are really comfortable. I had seen toe socks but never shoes. Very interesting. This was a very worthwhile event that I am sure we will be doing again next year.
