Our new home away from home

A few months ago I talked Casey into getting a membership to East Canyon Resort. I am so glad we did because we have been up there every weekend we didn't have something else planned. It is nice to be able to go up there and relax away from the hustle and bustle of our week day lives.
This weekend was particularly amusing. We were unloading our 4wheelers out of the toy hauler and this guy comes walking over. This guy is about 6 Foot with no hair and has an officers badge on his belt prominently showing. "I guess you know the rules here" Of course we do. "Then you know that you can't unload those in the campground." Well, you are wrong there. We have a toy hauler and it says in the bylaws that we can unload and load in the campground if we have a toy hauler. "You are wrong. I am going to call Carol and have her come over here." Go ahead. Before we bought the membership we asked alot of questions and this was one of them. "Well there's a new sheriff in town." (Honest he said this) Casey said, "Let me guess you are it." "Yup, and there have been a lot of illegal activity going on around here and I am going to be patrolling this area." Well, you and your badge don't scare me. Security came over at this point and told us that we did nothing wrong. Also, that this guy was not hired as new security and that he was just another member like us. Barney Fife, as we nicknamed him, came over and apologized after this.
The rest of the weekend you would see Barney Fife head to toe in camo with 4 pairs of handcuffs on this belt, a bulletproof vest, and a firearm strapped to his leg. We also found out he is a Game and Fish cop for Idaho. This will be a fun memory we will have for a long time.

Today's laugh

Overhead at Atlantis burger. At the drive up, I would like a pastrami burger with extra extra extra crisp fries. All three of us are thinking, wouldn't that mean they were burnt. At the register, I would like a hamburger with cheese, bacon, and onions. Wouldn't that be a bacon cheeseburger?

Woo Hoo Born Free in America!

I have been fortunate enough to have known both of my Grandfathers. Today Grandpa Marble passed away. Grandpa was one of the hardest workers I have ever known. For the last few years he has had to slow down because he had Parkinson's disease. As sad as it is, I am glad that he is no longer in pain.
I will always remember the buttercup song that he made up for me. Easter will always be remembered for rolling eggs down the hill above dad's house. Every time I see a sod truck, I will smile thinking about the deliveries I went on with him when I was young. A blown kiss will be added when we go passed the cemetery. I will always be able to see his handiwork when we go passed the park he built.
He willed be missed but his legacy will live on.

Rest in peace, Boondawg

Today has been a sad day for us dogs in the White household. One of our favorite toys had to be put to sleep today. Poor Boondawg just wasn't the same after he suffered an On The Job accident. After convulescing with Mr Giraffe (who is Mr Turtle now), he was able to come back to us for a short time. We are glad that we were able to enjoy your many accomplishments with you. From flying, to being a snake charmer, From taming Mr Crab to climbing Mt. Oak. Thanks Boonie for the many hours of entertainment you have provided. We will miss you.

Love,

Boo & Charlie

I love my husband!

Off and on for the last couple years, my brother has been trying to get us to buy a membership to East Canyon. There are so many rules up there that Casey has used that as an excuse not to get one. About a month ago, I went to lunch with my sister in law and I mentioned that I wish I could talk Casey into getting one. It has been a couple of years since we have rode our four wheelers out on a trail and they have trails we could ride. A couple of days later I was talking to Casey and mentioned I wished he would change his mind about it. It would not cost us anything to camp. It is just as far as Willard, which we have camped at a couple times in the last couple years. EC has everything and more that Willard has. Casey used to go to Strawberry with his parents every weekend while growing up. You can bet that I even used this as an argument. I also used the " think of all the memories we will be making with the boys.". Can you believe it? I finally talked him into it and he is as excited about it as I am. Thank you honey for letting me talk you into it. I love you More.

Feel good moment for today

WAlking out of Wal-Mart today, I overheard Jordan say, "Dad did you see that guy check Daph out?". I was totally oblivious but it made my day.

What would you tell Alex Trebek?

The last couple of weeks my husband has let me watch wheel of fortune and Jeopardy. It never ceases to amaze home and Jordan how many answers I get right. They always shake their heads in amazement when that happens. A couple of weeks ago we caught the final Jeopardy answer and I answered Jackson Pollock on a whim. Don't you know I for it right.
I keep telling Casey that if I got on the show I would probably embarrass myself. Then I thought, there isn't anything interesting about me. What would my fact be? I finally came up with one. Here is how the conversation would go.
Alex,"It says here that you play hide and seek every day. Tell me about it."
To which I would reply, "I work at home in my office downstairs. When I go upstairs throughout the day my dogs like to follow me. If I notice Charlie slowly following me, I will hurry up and hide from him. Never fails I give up before he finds me. my other dog, Boo, knows where I am every time but he never gives me away."
There is my interesting fact. What would be yours?

Now I have typed this out, maybe I can fall asleep. Good night everyone.
