CF walk

In May, we had the opportunity to do the CF walk for Jordan. The goal for our team was to raise $1,000. We missed the mark but were happy that we made $900. There were about 15 of us that were walking for Jordan. This was the first year we have participated. It was amazing to see how many people were there. One "team" even raised $23,000. We started walking from the MTC park in Ogden and went along the Ogden River Parkway. It was a pretty walk in the trees. We even got to see part of the Dinosaur park. My sister in law and I both wish we lived closer so we could walk it more often.
On our walk, Casey saw the weirdest shoes. There was a girl that had shoes that had individual spaces for each of her toes. She claims that they are really comfortable. I had seen toe socks but never shoes. Very interesting. This was a very worthwhile event that I am sure we will be doing again next year.

What is CF? I enjoy the charity walks I do even more, since I know I'm helping a good cause. The most meaningful ones are those that are closest to me. I'll be walking in September for Leukemia and Lymphoma, and the Women's Run (for breast cancer) is always special to me too.

BTW - Greg has a pair of running shoes with the individual toes. He calls them Five Fingers (don't know if that's the brand?). The soles are really pliable rubber, and he's thinks they're greater than sliced bread for running. (Not that you use sliced bread for running...) =)

CF stands for Cystic Fibrosis. Casey's oldest, Jordan, was diagnosed with it about 17 years ago.
