This last weekend we had the opportunity to go down to St George for a couple of soccer games for Braxton. These are always fun as we get to see a side of the boys that we don't see playing closer at home all the time. On Friday, we left here about noon, if I had left it up to Casey we would have left at 10. On the way down, we stopped in Beaver to get cheese curds. YUMMY!!! While we were driving, Braxton was watching a Tommy Boy and every once in a while we could hear him snicker at something he found funny. This made me smile since Nate and I rented that movie so many times one summer.
We had a game that night so we went to dinner with a few people after the game. During this time, the 3 11 year old boys were discussing what movies that thought were funny. All of the sudden we hear Seth say, Have you seen Pride and Prejudice? Of course, Hugh and Braxton had not since in their homes the majority is male. They asked Seth what type of movie it was and he told them "It is a chick flick."
The next topic was on one of the games the next day that they were playing against 13 year girls. Braxton was not liking this and said, "Girls have Rabies." Who knew? All this time I thought boys thought girls had Coodies.
On the way back to our condo from one of the games, we went by this house that had the best Redneck 4 Wheelers of all time. They had made a second seat on the back by taking the legs of a microfiber chair and strapped it to the rack on the back. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera at that time and everytime we went by it again it was not there. :(
In between games on Saturday, we had 4 hours to kill. So we found a park that had a playground and a couple of basketball hoops. So the boys came up with a new game. There was a bridge in the middle of the playground that had a net with big holes in it. So some of the 13 boys would stand on the bridge and some of the boys would try to kick the soccer ball in through the holes and hit each other. They had so much fun and it was a wonderful team activity.
Their last game was against the girls. And the rabies issue was quickly worked out. I even saw a few of the boys talking to the girls from the other team.
I am so thankful that we are able to have these type of experiences with Braxton. These are wonderful memories I am sure all 3 of us will have forever.
